On the Jamestown Ferry (also known as the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry), returning from picking strawberries in Surry (Virginia), earlier this year. My brother Mason is in the foreground. Kiernan, being held by PapPap, is making faces with Sandi.
This is, I realize, a weird choice for the first picture of 2009, but I wanted something interesting, and so I went looking at my favorite pictures of 2008. Especially 2008 pictures I had not yet posted. I love this picture. It is one of my favorites.
